Silver
Silver, for a year of colour. Ferns, by Neil Dawson. This glorious sculpture hangs above Civic Square in Wellington. The square is a lovely place enclosed by the magnificent city library, the city art gallery and the original, lovingly restored Town Hall. It's been there for years, without incident, which is remarkable for something suspended in mid air in this city known for its howling southerlies and gusty northerlies. Beautiful huh?

I love "Ferns." I love Wellington. Your quilt in the previous blog is awesome...well done!
OK, I'm bringin' the Pinot Grigio and headin' down for a visit! That is a magnificent piece! Thanks for sharing it Pixie.
Glorious indeed! I'd love one of those for my living room.
Thanks so much for the nice bday wishes - and all the way from NZ too! Happy to you too, fellow Virgo.

Great photo, Ms Pixie
I love this, too and Wellington is fab. I adore NZ!
Beautiful shot. How does the suspension work? I'm curious since I've seen this on another blog.
Kate, can you see the wires? And if you look hard at the picture above you can see them too. They're long...they go to the buildings across the square. It hardly stirs in our often spectacular winds, so it has been very carefully engineered.
